线上网课将持续多久？上好网课有哪些窍门？
今天我们请来肯恩大学自然与应用科学学院在线学习部门副院长、此次网课的美肯总负责人Corey Vigdor,为大家聊聊美肯网课的历史和这些大家最关心的问题。

Q1.溫肯现已开出多少线上课程？
A：我们目前为温肯开出130类不同的课程,共计近500节课,这其中包括建筑学、英语、生物学、管理学、金融学、数学、化学、物理、计算机科学等。而我们此次提供的所有线上课程基本上囊括了本学期所有的课程。
We currently offer 130 different courses for WKU, with a total of nearly 500 lessons.They included courses in Architecture, English, Biology, Management, Finance, Math, Chemistry, Physics, Computer Science，etc. Basically everything that was planned to be offered face to face is now offered online.
Q2.线上课程将持续多久？
A：从2月24日开始，我们将计划用13周的时间，将没有按时开学而错过的内容上完，这样才能确保学生习得所有必要的内容。肯恩线上课程通常长达8-16周。
These courses will run for 13 weeks and take us from February 24th to the end of the semester. These weeks will have 16 units worth of material to make up for the time missing from not starting the semester on time.This way we have ensured that all of the necessary content will be covered.Kean online courses are usually 8-16 weeks long.
Q3.线上课程的内容设置经过哪些程序？
A：我们开发在线课程的过程非常严谨。我们将结合课程目标，并依据评估要求和授课时数来进行衡量。过程中还使用了我们开发的一种特殊工具—— “课程开发准则”，这准则包含了课程时数,内容与评估,它被应用于所有的线上课程开发中。然后教学设计师将所有老师开发的内容依照准则安装到线上学习管理系统（Learning Management System）。在构建课程时，我们确保它们达到课程设计的最高标准。这对此次和过去与未来构建的课程而言都是一样的过程。
We go through a very rigorous process in how we develop online courses.We tie every activity to course objectives and measure all we do based on rubrics and time units.We use a special tool that we have developed which we call the “course map” that has been employed in all developments. All contents were then installed into our Learning Management System by our instructional designers.As we build the courses we make sure they are up to the highest standards in course design.This is the same for courses built in this initiative as well as those we have built in the past.
Q4.美肯线上课程经过哪些发展？
A：我有30多年的高等教育经验，大部分时间都在研究在线教学。90年代末，有人问我是否想参与一所大学的在线课程研究，我答应了。说实话，我真的不知道我要做什么，但那听起来很令人兴奋。事后证明，这是我做过的最好的决定。从那以后，我开发了很多程序、课程，教了超过10万名在线学生。我真的很喜欢这份工作。我把我多年来的经验与学习到的典范实务运用到了美国肯恩大学。六年前，我在美肯开始工作，从那时起，我建立了一个不断发展的项目，每年为来自世界各地的数千名学生提供服务。你相信吗？通过我们这几周的工作，温肯的学生们（的课程）有了更多的多样性。我很高兴未来能把温肯教师们所开发的线上课程分享给美肯的学生。
I have over thirty years of higher education experience with most of the time spent in online learning.In the late 90s I was asked if I wanted to be part of online learning at a university and I said yes.To be honest I really didn’t understand what I was getting into but it sounded exciting.That was the best decision I ever made.Since then I have developed lots of programs,courses and have taught over 100,000 online students.I really love it and believe in it.I have taken the very best of what I have seen out there and brought it to Kean University.I started at Kean six years ago and since then have built a growing program that serves thousands of students each year from all around the world.Believe it or not but through our work these past few weeks the students at WKU have so much more of a variety.I am excited to take the terrific work done by the faculty at WKU and introduce it to the students of Kean USA in the future.
Q5.您能给温肯学生一些上课的建议吗？
A：在我们的入学培训中，我提供了一段自己的录音，其中和学生们分享了一些建议。几乎所有学生都查看了我的信息，这给我留下了深刻的印象。无论如何，我想给任何刚接触在线学习的学生如下建议：1）管理好你的时间。每个单元都有9-12小时的学习量。如果你选了5门课，也就是45-60小时。学习不能拖到最后一分钟。你必须每天坚持，不拖沓。2）尽早并经常在讨论区发帖。这是你与同学、老师见面，分享你的想法和经验的地方。早发和坚持发帖的学生往往比不发帖子的学生做得更好。3）什么都要过目。每门课都有很多细节，你不能错过任何信息。4）信赖你的老师。他们会支持你走每一步。如果你需要帮助，问吧，不要害羞。5）开心的学习。这是一种不同的学习方式，也是一种你可能一开始不习惯的学习方式，但如果你抱着玩得开心的想法去学习，它会打开你的世界，你会学到比你想象得多的关于教材和你自己的知识。
During our Orientation I provided a recording of myself where I shared some advice to students.I was so impressed with the fact that just about every student 99% watched my message. Anyway,the advice I would give to any students new to online learning is as follows:1) Manage your time well.There is a lot to do.Each unit was built with 9-12 hours worth of work to do each unit.If you are taking five courses that is 45-60 hours.Work cannot be left to the last minute.You have to be on it every day.No procrastinating.2) Post early and often in the discussion boards.This is where you get to meet your classmates,faculty and share your thoughts and experiences. Students who get in there early and throughout the week tend to do better than those who do not.3) Read everything.Each course has lots of details and you don’t want to miss anything.4) Rely on your faculty member.They will be with you every step of the way.If you need assistance,ask for it.Don’t be shy.5) Have fun.This is a different way of learning and one that you might not be used to but if you go into it with the notion of having fun it will open your world and your will learn much more about the material and yourself then you ever expected.
