WKU Student Secures Second Prize in the Regional Final of the 30th China Daily "21st Century Cup" National English Speaking Competition (Zhejiang Province)
On June 7th, the Regional Final of the 30th China Daily "21st Century Cup" National English Speaking Competition for Zhejiang Province was successfully held at Nottingham University, Ningbo. WKU student Wu Yichen emerged as the second prize winner among the participants, earning a place in the national final.

The competition consisted of three parts: a four-minute prepared speech, a two-minute impromptu speech (with 20 minutes of preparation) and a two-minute Q&A session. A total of 34 contestants from across the province competed in this competition. Focusing on the theme “Living within and beyond the 21st century,” participants reflected on the challenges and responsibilities of our time through personal stories, showcasing the global vision and thoughtful engagement of today’s youth.
About the Competition
The “21st Century Cup” National English Speaking Competition was founded by the 21st Century English newspaper series in 1996. It is the most prestigious English-speaking contest in China. It is also the qualifying contest for the annual International Public Speaking Competition in London.
