Congrats to WKU teams for winning the Second Prize and the Third Prize of China Universities Debating Championship (CUDC) contest!
From Nov.16 to 17, the 2024 China Universities Debating Championship (CUDC) National Finals were held online. This year’s competition attracted 116 teams from universities across the country for the finals.

The topics covered a wide range of fields, including society, economics, culture, education, and environmental protection. The aim of the competition is to cultivate students’ English speaking skills, critical thinking, and logical reasoning abilities.
Two WKU teams advanced to the National Finals. During the two days of intense competition, both teams demonstrated solid language proficiency and strong analytical abilities.
Team Xu Haibo and Zhu Haoxin won the Second Prize (ranked 50th) in the finals, showing their strong professional knowledge, quick thinking, and excellent speech.
Team Chen Yining and Fu Yuxi joined the finals after earning a wild card entry in the 2024 CUDC Challenge held in July, ultimately securing a Third Prize in the finals with their outstanding performance.

About CUDC
China Universities Debating Championship is supervised by the Master of Translation and Interpreting Steering Committee of the Ministry of Education and organized by the CATTI project management center of China International Publishing Group.
Launched in 2021, this competition is a national English debate competition, aiming to encourage discussions about international topics and diverse cultures, developing college students into global leaders for the new era.
