Congratulations! Our Student Wins Silver at 2024 “FLTRP·ETIC Cup” “Understanding Contemporary China” International Communication Contest
The 2024 “FLTRP·ETIC Cup” “Understanding Contemporary China” International Communication Contest recently concluded successfully in Beijing. Wu Yichen, a junior finance major, secured the national silver award in this contest.
This year’s contest integrated the previous FLTRP reading, writing, and public speaking competitions, introducing a new format to participants. The aim is to deepen college students’ understanding of contemporary China, enhance their intercultural communication skills, and inspire them to share China’s development and narratives with the global community. It provides a platform for students across China to showcase their linguistic competence and international communication skills. Compared to last year, this year saw an increase in participation, attracting 700,000 college students nationwide.
Wu Yichen, a member of WKU English Competition Team, participated in the contest for the first time. With excellent performance and outstanding English proficiency, he advanced to the national finals after several rounds of rigorous selection.
