WKU Campus Selection for the 2024 “FLTRP ETIC” “Understanding Contemporary China” English Speaking Competition was successfully held on Sept. 22, 2024. It was organized by the English Language Center and Toastmaster English Speech Club. Seventy-two contestants participated in the event.

Here are the results:

The campus selection has two rounds. In the first round, contestants delivered a prepared speech followed by a Q&A session. The second round featured an impromptu speech and a Q&A part. The theme for this selection is “The Chinese dragon is good”. 

The judging panel praised the event’s excellent organization and commended contestants for their fluent delivery and strong opinions. The top 6 students will undergo a Comprehensive Ability Assessment on October 13th, with the top 4 advancing to the provincial semi-finals.
