Students Stood Out in 2022 “FLTRP·ETIC Cup” English Public Speaking Contest
The offline and online contests of 2022 “FLTRP·ETIC Cup” English Public Speaking Contest have been concluded. WKU students have reached a record high in this competition. LI Hairuo and CHEN Xi won the first prize and second prize, respectively in Zhejiang offline contest, and GAO Yuchen ranked top 90 in the online contest, advancing to the national final.
All WKU contestants are members of the English Speech/Debating Team of ECT, and they are SUN Yuling, LI Hairuo, GAO Yuchen and CHEN Xi. During the preparation for this speech contest, in addition to attending regular speech-training sessions, they also received guidance from ELC instructors and Abbigail Ajim, Lecturer in Communication.
About “FLTRP·ETIC Cup” English Public Speaking Contest
Founded in 2002, the “FLTRP·ETIC Cup” English Public Speaking Contest has been recognized as the largest and most influential English speech event in China, attracting contestants from home and abroad.
In November 2020, WU Bingxian (a graduate of the 2021 class) participated in the contest for the first time and won the second prize in Zhejiang provincial final.
