China Daily “21st Century Cup” National English Speaking Competition——Provincial Final Results Announcement
Zhejiang provincial final, the “21st Century Cup” English Public Speaking Contest, was held on May.9, 2021.
30 contestants from 26 Universities in Zhejiang province addressed the topic of “Protecting the Blue Planet”.
WuBingxian, an English major senior student entered the Provincial Final and received the 3rd prize in the competition with her great confidence and fluent English.


The Competition was divided into 3 parts. The first part was a 3-min prepared speech. The second part was an impromptu speech where contestants were to deliver a 2-min speech with 20 minutes to prepare for it after sighting the topic. The last part was Q&A, contestants were to answer questions raised by judges regarding their speeches for 2 minutes.
About the Competition
The “21st Cup” National English Speaking Competition was founded by the 21st Century English newspaper series in 1996. It is the most prestigious English-speaking contest in China. It is also the qualifying contest for the annual International Public Speaking Competition in London.
