WKU welcomed a delegation from University College Dublin (UCD) to the campus on March 8th.

UCD are a world ranked university and their visit here represents part of WKU’s strategy of maximum commitment to students.

The delegation were met by Mr Phil Connelly (Executive VP), Dr Jiang Cao (Dean of Business School) and Mr Steven Harris (Assoc Director, Assessment) as well as members of the media center.

The delegation consisted of Prof Tadgh O’ Hannrachain (Head of School of History); Daniel O’Sullivan (Head of recruitment); Bei Gao (China regional manager) and Le Luo (marketing coordinator) who were given a conducted tour of WKU and were impressed by the size and scope of our campus, our facilities, our teacher/student ratio and the student accommodation.

Following a sumptuous lunch our visitors then gave a talk – to 125 attendees in B101 – about their University, the programs available and the high global reputation of UCD. Our students learned about studying in Ireland and the pleasant and friendly nature of living in Ireland.

Prof O’ Hannrachain then gave a talk on Irish History and Literature. It was high level but our students responded magnificently asking lively and insightful questions. UCD were clearly impressed by the quality of our students and would definitely come again!
