Recently, the QS China Higher Education Summit 2026 was held in Shenzhen. Dr. Cary Anderson, Executive Vice Chancellor of Wenzhou-Kean University, and Dr. Midya Yousefi, Assistant Professor of the College of Education, Wenzhou-Kean University, attended the summit on behalf of the university and delivered  sharing.

As a high-end exchange platform connecting Chinese and foreign universities, governments and industries, this summit was themed 'Connected Cities, Collaborative Campuses'. It gathered more than 500 university presidents, government officials and business executives from various countries and regions including the UK, Australia, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and China, to jointly discuss the transformation trends and cooperation paths of global higher education.

During the closing session of the summit, Dr. Cary Anderson was invited to speak as a guest. He introduced the unique advantages of Wenzhou-Kean University as a landmark project of Sino-US cooperative education, and stated that mutually beneficial strategic partnerships are the key links to promote innovation in higher education. He also shared WKU's experience in international cooperation, talent cultivation and cross-cultural governance, echoing the summit's core spirit of 'collaboration, mutual trust and common development'.

Dr. Midya Yousefi was invited to participate in the special seminar themed Innovative Partnerships: Skills Enhancement and Performance Accelerator.

Dr. Yousefi stated that under the wave of artificial intelligence and digital transformation, transformational leadership is the core element to promote real innovation in international university cooperation. Combined with the educational practice of Wenzhou-Kean University, she shared the case of the GLOCAL Research Fund established by the President of Kean University, showing how universities can promote inter-university connections into tangible academic innovation and cooperative actions with visionary leadership, and providing a reference practice sample for the construction of global higher education partnerships.
