Professor Agnes Tang, Director of the MA TESOL program at Wenzhou-Kean University, is a dedicated advocate for community-based English education. Since 2020, she has led a team of graduate students in providing free picture book-based English lessons to over 1,800 local children, integrating literacy, goal-setting, emotional learning, and social interaction.

The postgraduate students majoring in international English teaching from Wenzhou-Kean University conducted English teaching with picture books at Xiedu No.3 Primary School

By training graduate students as volunteer teachers, she fosters a sustainable cycle of teaching and learning, allowing future educators to gain practical experience while giving back to their communities.

Wenzhou-Kean University's International English Teaching and Picture Book International Education Research Center regularly holds picture book exhibitions

Additionally, Professor Tang is committed to long-term capacity building by planning to establish a teacher training center at WKU, designed to equip local English teachers with international best practices—ensuring that the program’s positive impact extends beyond the classroom and into the future.
