The TESOL research project not only helped me improve the depth and skills of my teaching but also opened doors to higher academic levels. Every professor enthusiastically approached students, provided careful guidance, and offered valuable feedback. In this project, I learned best practices for teaching English and delved into theories and methods of language acquisition. These courses provided practical teaching skills and sparked my academic curiosity. I began to think independently and explore deeper issues in English language education, which is significant for my future research and teaching career. I am fortunate to have had the opportunity to study here, and this experience has made me a more well-rounded and confident educator.
The most profound experience I had upon arriving at Wenzhou Kean University was selecting a thesis advisor. During the interview with Professor Tang, we briefly discussed research topics. After our conversation, Professor Tang said something that has motivated me constantly: "You are very well-suited to pursue a research career." This statement has fueled my passion for research ever since. My research skills have proliferated in just one year at Wenzhou Kean University despite having no prior research experience. Currently, I have collaborated with Professor Ayse on three forthcoming research papers. What brings me the greatest happiness here is encountering Professor Tang. She genuinely treats her students with love and has an exceptional ability to recognize their potential. An old Chinese is saying with the right person, you grow every day. I consider myself fortunate to have found my mentor.
