James R. Heller, Consul General at the U.S Consulate General in Shanghai, and his Delegation visits WKU
On December 14, James R. Heller, Consul General at the U.S Consulate General in Shanghai, and his Delegation paid a visit to WKU. Chancellor Wang Li, Vice Chancellors Eric Yang, Xu Shuli, Yan Xiaopeng, and Xia Caiguo met with the delegation.
To start with, the delegation visited the classroom, students’ dormitory, activity room, public space and took a look of the panorama of the University. They exclaimed how rapidly the university established within a decade.
On behalf of WKU, Chancellor Wang Li extended a heartfelt welcome to the delegation in the following meeting. He elaborated on the progress of the University ranging from school teaching, curriculum setting, source of students, scientific research, university construction project, the cooperation between WKU and Kean USA during the Pandemic, and the school expansion plan.
Mr. James R. Heller spoke in Chinese to show his respect. He highly appreciated the efforts and fruitful outcomes of WKU, especially, he highlighted the pivotal role that WKU has played to strengthen the non-government exchanges between China and the United States and the great contributions it made to forge a better bilateral relation.
Vice Chancellor Eric Yang further introduced the strong and international faculty team as well as the endeavors between the two Universities to switch from a teaching-oriented normal University to a more comprehensive University. Dr. Xu Shuli made his points from admission and international cooperation. They both expected a good turnaround prevailing over the strained international relations that global exchanges and communications could be resumed soon.
