Ms. LIU Jin and her Delegation from MOE Visit WKU

On October 14, Ms. LIU Jin, Director General of the Department of International Cooperation and Exchanges of Ministry of Education (MOE) and her Delegation visited Wenzhou-Kean University (WKU). Mr. Yao Gaoyuan, Mayor of Wenzhou, Ms. Hu Jianjin, Director of Wenzhou Publicity Department, Mr. Wang Beijiao, Chairman of WKU Board of Directors and Chancellor of WKU, Dr. Wang Li, greeted Ms. LIU and the delegation.

Following their campus tour to the student dormitory and the building of College of Business & Public Management and an introduction by Chancellor Wang, the delegates said they were impressed by the multicultural environment at WKU. “The students here are so lucky to have such great software and hardware facilities,” said Ms. LIU.

At the conference, Chancellor Wang introduced the background and development of the school. At the same time, he also put forward the next development plan and existing problems such as the level of school running, the scale of development, the need for high-end talents and the school influences at home and abroad.

“Developing WKU was a responsibility and mission. WKU has encountered many challenges along the way but also made remarkable achievements. The municipal government has full confidence on WKU and will always support its growth.” Mayor Yao noted.

Ms. Liu said, “WKU with its distinctive characteristics is of great importance and it has a promising future. We should work together to build WKU into a model of China-foreign cooperative university.”

Wang Zhenbin, Director of National Cooperation Department of Zhejiang Education Department, Wang Yi, Secondary Consultant from International Department of MOE, Peng Lihua, Secretary-General of Wenzhou and Zheng Jianhai, Director of Municipal Education Bureau, and Andrew Brannen, Vice President of Kean University also attended the meeting.
