WKU Campus Selection Concludes for Two National English Speaking Competitions

WKU Campus Selection for the 31st “21st Century Cup” National English Speaking Competition and 2026 “FLTRP·ETIC Cup” English Speaking Competition, jointly organized by the English Language Center and the Toastmasters English Speech Club, was successfully held on March 29, 2026. A total of forty-two contestants participated in the event.
Champion YANG Chenxi, First Runner-up Chen Xin and Second Runner-up Zhao Shuhan will represent WKU at the next round of the 31st “21st Century Cup” National English Speaking Competition. The top 8 contestants will receive further training for qualification for the 2026 “FLTRP·ETIC Cup” Zhejiang provincial competition.
The campus selection was comprised of three rounds. The first round featured a one-minute speech video submission; the second round included a prepared speech on the theme of “Setbacks are one’s greatest guarantee of success” and a Q&A session; the final round consisted of an impromptu speech and a Q&A session.
The judging panel applauded the well-organized competition, and particularly commended our contestants on their articulate delivery and insightful perspectives.
