Kean University President Lamont Repollet Leads Delegation to Wenzhou to Strengthen Cultural Exchange and University Cooperation

Recently, Dr. Lamont Repollet, President of Kean University, visited Wenzhou with his delegation, opening the door to deep-level exchange focused on cultural experiences and inter-school cooperation.

During their visit, in addition to attending the WKU 2025 commencement, President Repollet and his delegation also visited Wenzhou University for further cooperation. The delegation included Upendra Chivukula and John Kean Jr., members of the Wenzhou-Kean University Board of Directors, and Felice Vazquez, Chancellor for International Campuses, Kean University. Also present were Cary Anderson, Executive Vice Chancellor, and Eric Yang, Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs at WKU.

President Repollet and his delegation were accompanied by leaders of Wenzhou University, including Qian Qiang and Zhuang Xingzhong, as they visited the university’s Dragon Boat Training Base, Art Museum, and History Museum.

At the Dragon Boat Training Base, President Repollet and his delegation watched the training of the Wenzhou University Dragon Boat Team in action, impressed by the students’ teamwork and competitive spirit. As a symbol of future cooperation, Wenzhou University presented President Repollet with a dragon boat paddle. Additionally, Qian Qiang gave him a hair-embroidered artwork created by the local renowned master Meng Yongguo.

During their stay in Wenzhou, President Repollet and the delegation attended the Wenzhou-Kean University Board of Directors meeting, where the two universities reviewed their achievements in teaching, research, and other areas over the past year. They also engaged in in-depth discussions on future development strategies and international cooperation, injecting new momentum into their collaboration.

The delegation also visited cultural landmarks, including Yandang Mountain, Wuma Street, and Mo Chi Park in Wenzhou, to explore the local culture.
