Before joining the Psychology program, I had been continuously pursuing personal and professional growth. Studying Business Administration at the University of Michigan equipped me with knowledge in global economics, financial accounting, and marketing principles. This experience allowed me to better understand the business world and develop diverse skills to tackle life and work challenges. Reflecting on my professional journey, I have accumulated over eight years of working experience, further broadening my knowledge and honing my skills.
As an Account Manager at Lucheng Rural Commercial Bank, I independently managed personal and corporate credit customer relationships, effectively marketed and promoted loan products, expanded the customer base through strategic networking, and nurtured long-lasting relationships. While at China United Insurance Co., Ltd., I contributed to cost calculations in the non-auto Insurance Department and introduced non-auto insurance products to customers. Working at Shanghai Jiaji Trading Co., Ltd. as a general manager assistant provided me with valuable experience and insights into the organization's operation and management strategy.
I am inspired to join the MA program in Psychology at WKU. Psychology, with its emphasis on the complexities of the mind and behavior, has always fascinated me. I have a passion for understanding human behavior, cognition, and emotional processes. I am eager to explore the dynamic intersection of business and psychology, as this combination offers immense potential for understanding consumer behavior, improving organizational culture, and fostering effective leadership. I believe that the MA program will broaden my career opportunities and provide valuable benefits.
WKU has an outstanding reputation for academic excellence, fostering a supportive learning environment, and maintaining a diverse community of students and faculty. I am excited about the opportunity to learn from accomplished faculty members who have expertise in various psychology subfields at WKU. This semester, Dr. Kaur (Nikki) and Dr. Li imparted and guided me in basic psychology knowledge. I am confident that the program’s comprehensive curriculum and hands-on learning opportunities will provide me with a solid knowledge foundation and necessary tools for my future career.
Studying at WKU enriches my academic knowledge and expands my intellectual horizons. Exposure to various subjects, including lectures, discussions, and research, has improved my critical thinking, analytical skills, and problem-solving abilities. The multicultural and diverse nature of the university community provides me with different perspectives and cultures, further developing my global mindset. The experience at WKU fosters my personal growth and prepares me to face challenges in our ever-changing world, ultimately contributing to success in my personal and professional lives in the future.
