WKU Student Won Second Prize in Regional Final of 28th “21st Century Cup” Speech Contest
On September 8th, the Regional Final of the 28th China Daily “21st Century Cup” National English Speaking Competition for Zhejiang Province was held online successfully. WKU student WU Yichen emerged as the Second Prize winner in the regional final.

A total of 25 contestants from Zhejiang province participated in this competition. They eloquently discussed the topic “My Interpretation of Civilization,” articulating their perspectives in proficient English. The competition comprised three segments: an initial four-minute prepared speech, followed by a two-minute impromptu speech (with 20 minutes of preparation) for the second part, and finally, the Q&A session for the third and concluding part.
About the Competition
Founded by the 21st Century English newspaper series in 1996, the “21st Century Cup” National English Speaking Competition is the most prestigious English-speaking contest in China, and is also the qualifying contest for the annual International Public Speaking Competition in London.
