Students Won Third Prizes of the National Interpreting Contest

The 10th National Interpreting Contest – East China Regional Tournament ended in September. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the 10th National Interpreting Contest Committee announced to hold online competitions for all regional tournaments.The contest consists of two sections of consecutive interpreting from English into Chinese (blockchain and Bitcoin technology) and from Chinese into English (United Nations Climate Change Conference).Over 710 contestants from 93 universities in Zhejiang, Jiangsu, and Fujian participated in the contest. WKU English major students Wang Pengchao and Shen Qianqian won the third prize for their outstanding performance.

 

Organized by the China International Publishing Group and Translators Association of China (TAC), this interpreting contest is one of the most influential competitions, aiming to further improve the quality of interpreters in colleges and universities and provide young people with a platform to display their language competence.
