Lantern Festival Party for International Students

On the evening of March 5, WKU host the Lantern Festival Party for the international students from Kean University in New Jersey. These international students range from freshman to junior students with different majors, including International Business, Finance, and Public Administration. Administrative staff from Kean University, WKU staff, members of student government, and student ambassadors also took part in the party.

                 

The Lantern Festival is a traditional Chinese festival, the 15th day of the first month of the Chinese New Year and people eat Tangyuan (a sticky rice ball) as a traditional custom. The students and staff learned how to make Tangyuan and had fun with playing games later. After that, a student from WKU student government, Layla sang a beautiful song and Silva Margarita, one of the international students gave a dance performance at the end of the party.

                 

Phil Galleta, one of the international students said:” The Lantern Festival was great! Some of the greatest group of people we have met and I’m sure it will only get better. Wolfgang did a great job in hosting and he is a good friend of mine.”
