Wenzhou-Kean University's College of Science, Mathematics, and Technology Holds Inauguration Ceremony for New Building

This morning, the College of Science, Mathematics, and Technology (CSMT) at Wenzhou-Kean University (WKU) welcomed a grand ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the official opening of its state-of-the-art Science and Technology Building. The ceremony took place at 9 a.m. in front of the building's entrance.

Hosted by Professor Jungbin Kim and Zhou Wei (a graduate student), the event warmly welcomed distinguished guests and attendees. They expressed their excitement, marking this moment as the beginning of an extraordinary journey and affirming WKU's progress and spirit of scientific research.

Subsequently, Dr. Aloysius Wong, Dean of WKU's College of Science, Mathematics, and Technology, delivered a passionate and proud speech. He elaborated on the facilities and functions of the CSMT Building, emphasizing the college's dedication to education, research, and student success. He also extended gratitude to all staff and faculty involved in the building's construction, looking forward to future research collaborations and developments.

Following Dr. Wong's speech, Dr. George Chang, Dean of Dorothy and Henning’s College of Science, Mathematics and Technology at Kean USA, delivered a brief yet profound address. He expressed hopes for future innovation and scientific discovery, anticipating increased collaboration between the two universities to further develop doctoral programs.

Lastly, representing the students, Haoru Li, a recipient of the National Scholarship, shared her growth and experiences at WKU. She vividly described how, with the patience and assistance of WKU professors, she transformed from a novice in English terminology to a confident international speaker. Expressing gratitude for the opportunities and enriching experiences provided by WKU, she looked forward to a bright future filled with confidence and anticipation.

 

The ribbon-cutting ceremony commenced with esteemed guests, including Lamont Repollet, President of Kean University; Mr. Wang Beijiao, Chairman of the Board of Directors; Felize Vazquez, Senior Vice President for Planning and Special Counsel to the President of Kean University; Dr. Cary Anderson, Executive Vice Chancellor; Dr. Zheng Xiaodong, Vice Chancellor; Dr. Eric Yang, Vice President of WKU and Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs; Dr. George Chang, Dean of Dorothy and Henning’s College of Science, Mathematics and Technology at Kean USA; and Dr. Aloysius Wong, Dean of WKU's College of Science, Mathematics, and Technology. Amidst cheers and laughter, they collectively cut the ribbon, symbolizing the beginning of a new chapter.
